Industry 4.0

Industry 4.0 (also called Work 4.0 or the Fourth Industrial Revolution) is the name for today's trend of digitalization, the automation of production that goes with it, and the changes it will bring to the labor market. (Source: Wikipedia)

The four industrial revolutions.

Predictive maintenance (Source: Wikipedia)

Predictive maintenance statistically evaluates data from sensors and control units, technicians' reports, customer complaints, the number of defective products, staffing levels and other information on the factors that affect operations. Maintenance is planned from the correlations and causal links found between these factors, and parts are replaced before they reach the end of their service life.

An early warning of an approaching fault can greatly reduce the cost of production downtime, such as waiting for spare parts.

Accelerometer

An accelerometer is a component or instrument that measures acceleration, both linear and rotational. In modern electronics, accelerometers detect orientation (rotating the screen of a mobile device), track the position of game controllers, stabilize the image in cameras, and detect vibration or a fall (hard drives use them to park their read heads safely before impact).
